The Asbury Park Boardwalk will come alive this summer with more dining, retail and entertainment destinations than ever before.  The rapid return of Asbury Park as a dominant east coast shore town will be clearly evident.

These new concepts will be celebrated in a kick-off party on Sunday, May 23, 2010 from 12pm-4pm.  The new eateries will be sampling their foods for visitors and many of the retailers will be conducting demonstrations or offering promotions.  There will be activities and entertainment throughout the day for children and adults.

"We are extremely proud of the quality and quantity of new offerings this year and we want the entire Asbury Park community to join us in welcoming them to the most exciting, distinctive and diverse shore destination anywhere." said Carrie Turner, Director of Retail Services for Madison Marquette.

Many of the now-familiar boardwalk destinations will also join the celebration and be part of the 2010 summer season, including glass-blowing at Hot Sands and pottery-making at La Placa as well as a whimsical water park for kids, a miniature golf course, stylish furniture and fashion boutiques along with surf and bike shops.  Restaurant highlight continue to include the critically-acclaimed Stella Marina, an Italian eatery with sweeping views of the Atlantic Ocean, Langosta Lounge with its vacation-inspired cuisine and Tim McLoone's Supper Club, a modern take on the popular New York supper clubs of the 1940s and 50s.  The vibrant music scene at the historic Stone Pony, Wonder Bar and Paramount Theatre will continue to be complemented by both The Beach Bar, an upscale lounge with daybeds and sofas overlooking the ocean and Watermark, part sophisticated drinkery and tapas bar, part music lounge and social club.

Community members and visitors alike will enjoy weekly events including fireworks every Wednesday night and movies on the beach every Thursday night beginning after Memorial Day.  Other major events throughout the summer include:
